Join us at this exciting all day conference exploring the interaction between the indigenous peoples of the northeastern United States and the European arrivals during first contacts. Themes to be explored include disease and healing, the fur trade, clothing, cooking and food stuffs, role of women, language, and exchange and trade systems. How did these dramatically different cultures live and interact?

Reception to follow at 5 P.M. This conference is a 2008 Great Discoveries in Vermont Archaeology Lecture.
