Built in 1759-60 during the French and Indian War, the Crown Point Road was of great importance in the early history of Vermont. General Jeffrey Amherst ordered its construction following his capture of the French forts at Ticonderoga and Crown Point. This road has served as a supply route, a strong point in the defense of the American colonies, a starting point in the campaign against the French in Canada, and a road that opened Vermont for settlement. Join us for a hike along this historically important road. Bring Lunch!

Location: Orwell,- Hike the Ti branch and visit the historic house. Meet at Whiting Elementary school, VT Route 30.
